Prepare for the Walk

Equipment

We always try and book good weather for the event, however some of the route can get muddy & slippery after a wet spell!

-We highly advise that well broken in walking boots/shoes are worn.

-Walking poles or sticks are recommended

-Weather appropriate clothing, including waterproofs

-Your own water bottle that can be refilled at all checkpoints along the route

Along with the route directions, specifically written for the Circuit of Bath Walk, you will also receive:

-A special lanyard with a pocket designed to hold and display your map for easy reading

-Access to the free shuttle bus which operates between the checkpoints

-A Circuit of Bath medal if you complete the full 20 mile challenge

-A PDF of snippets of history along the walk (printed copies available at the checkpoints for a small donation).

Participants’ Fitness

For anyone who is setting out to do the whole route, but who is not a regular walker, we do recommend some preparation beforehand, such as a few half day walks in advance.

A prompt 8am start is recommended if you plan to do the whole route, as the checkpoints, run by volunteers, close at 6pm.
